LG-Series S/O inks are applied on coated paper stock to block any pre-printed copy from being seen. The product can then be removed by scratching with a coin or finger-nail to show the underprint for identification. These scratch-off inks are manufactured to meet the standards set by the gaming industry. To assure the customer that tampering is held to a minimum, we recommend the use of our LG/UV Clear Base Coat. This product is applied to the coated paper stock first and the LG-Series S/O ink is then applied over it. LG/UV is a UV curable ink product and must be cured though a UV curing unit before further applications. The LG/UV clear base coat is resistant to solvents. (See LGUV-9000 Product Data Sheet).
It is highly recommended that the LG-Series scratch-off ink be printed on coated paper stock.
LG-Series S/O inks are solvent based ink products and dry through solvent evaporation. High volumes of air movement are needed to assure that the solvent is properly removed from the ink. The application of forced heated air will accelerate the drying process. It is suggested that a temperature of 100 to 120F for 1 to 2 minutes be applied. Jet air drying equipment is recommended. The LG-Series S/O ink will air dry (on racks) in 45-90 minutes depending in printing shop conditions.
Monofilament fabrics are preferable in mesh counts ranging from 110 to 230. The mesh count should be determined by the degree of opacity required to completely "hide" the underlying copy. Generally, the LG-5004 Black covers well enough through higher mesh counts.
CMN-6 may be used to modify the ink for proper printing consistency. CMN-7 may be used to retard in-screen drying. Caution: The addition of modifiers in excess amounts may diminish opacity and compromise the products hiding quality.
To clean screens after production use W-110 Screen Cleaner or any commercial screen cleaner.
Approximately 650-1100 Sq. Ft./Gallon depending on mesh count. |
