DAYGLO ® Fluorescent Colors Premeasured Mixing Kits: Because the shelf life of fluorescent inks cannot be guaranteed, particularly in warmer weather, fluorescent colors in the KD Series are sold in two part kits. Clear (Part B) are pre-modified for easier blending Pigments (Part A) are pre-measured. A small mixing unit is recommended.
KP Transparent Colors
Metallic Colors
Any KP Series color can be formulated as a custom order to be Heavy Metal compliant by CONEG legislation, ASTM F963-03, EN71-3 1994 and IS 8124-3: 1997 |
Metal: Test coated metal prior to production. Use up to 5% KP-2001 Metal Etch Thinner to improve adhesion. Plastics: Especially acrylics (Plexiglas, Lucite), vinyl sheets, Scotchlite, top coated polyester, polycarbonates, styrene. Top coatings affect adhesion. Avoid polyethylene's. Glass: Recommended for first or second-surface printing (depending on application); can be used for second-surface graphics on glass prior to the mirroring/silvering process. Other Substrates: coated paper, foam boards, wood, leather, and Scotchlite.
KP Lacquers dry through solvent evaporation. Fresh air volume is more of a factor in dry time than temperature. Force Dry: for high volume air dryer (3000 - 5000 CFM, equipped with air knives) at 100 -120F: 30 - 60 seconds. Air Dry: 15 -45 minutes depending on air circulation and temperature.
CudnerCote or other direct method emulsions, capillary films.
160 to 300 monofilament.
All types, 60 to 80 durometer.
REDUCE: use KP-2000 to achieve desired viscosity. Mixing colors should be used without thinning. RETARDER: use KP-2020 to slow in-screen drying. Excess use of Retarder will inhibit curing of the printed film. FLOW PROMOTER: opaque KP Lacquer colors do not normally require a flow additive. Mixing colors and clears may require small amounts of KP-2018C Concentrate. Use no more than 2 oz. per gallon. Over use of this highly concentrated additive will adversely affect performance.
Fluorescent Colors Fluorescent colors are formulated with DayGlo brand pigments and match color cards provided by that company. However, type of ink, reduction, substrate color and screen mesh can significantly affect printed shade. If your fluorescent color requirements are critical, please consult a Candoc technical representative before ordering.**
DayGlo color cards are available at no charge from Cudner & O'Connor Company.
