SUBSTRATES

Coated and uncoated paper stocks, cardboard, paperboard.

DRYING

PI inks dry through solvent evaporation. Fresh air volume is more of a factor in dry time than temperature.  Force Dry: for high volume air dryer (3000-5000CFM, equipped with air knifes) at 100-120F: about 1 minute. Air Dry: 15-45 minutes depending on air circulation and temperature. Thorough drying (driving all solvents out of the printed film) is critical. Inks may otherwise post heat when stock is stacked.

STENCILS

CudnerCote or other direct method emulsions, capillary films.

SCREEN MESH

140 to 250 polyester monofilament or 8xx to 20xx multifilament.

SQUEEGES

All types, 60 to 80 durometer.

MODIFIERS

REDUCER: use PI-40 or mineral spirits to achieve desired viscosity.

RETARDER: use PI-41 or solvent 150 to slow in-screen drying.

EXTENDER: PI Series can be  "based down" up to 50% without losing color integrity. Use PI-25 Heavy Base or PI-32 Light Base.

CLEARS: Clear Overprint PI-31A.

COVERAGE

Approximately 1200 Sq. Ft./Gallon.
